God Made

God Made

In 2023, while sitting at home and somewhat battling my own personal depression, I found myself scrolling through social media and YouTube. I listened to countless self-help gurus trying to guide people on how to become the next big influencer, the next self-made millionaire, or anything other than what God created them to be. One recurring theme I heard became extremely nauseating. Each person spoke about being self-made—self-made this, self-made that—and while it's true that hard work, grit, and determination are necessary to build a brand, a company, or a career, there was still one crucial factor that was missing: "God".

This thought kept gnawing at me, refusing to let go. A few weeks later, I happened to be watching an award show—something I don’t do often. Though I appreciate the entertainment and the music, I find the acceptance speeches frustrating. As someone who wants to give all glory to God first, I know that without Him, we are nothing! After listening to speech after speech, filled with people saying how “I did this” and “my promoter, my producer, my this, my that,” only for them to add, “Oh yeah, and thanks to God!” it left me feeling exasperated.

One day, while sitting down for breakfast and doodling—as I often do—I began sketching out a vision that God had given me: “self-made” with the word “self” crossed out and “God” written big and bold over the top. Being myself, I felt compelled to give God a crown, acknowledging Him as the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords, whose name is hallowed. This idea marked the birth of “God Made.”

At first, I thought, "God, it cannot be this simple. It cannot be this easy." But God inspired me with scriptures to go along with the concept. I started searching for every scripture related to God as the creator, and eventually, I narrowed it down to three—my favorite number. Colossians 1:16 stood out to me, which later became the foundation for the logo, the collection, and, ultimately, the brand.

For weeks, I searched the Internet for any versions of “God Made,” but I couldn’t find anything like mine. I thought, “God, it cannot be this easy; you couldn’t have made it this simple for me!” But just like God, He did make it simple! The Exnihilo creator gifted me with a vision, and I was initially too scared to act on it, feeling too small, insignificant, unworthy, and inadequate to do something for such a great God.

For two years, the great Creator of the world transformed my mind, healed my heart, and showed me that He loved me just as I was. I didn’t have to be perfect; I just had to be willing to take a leap of faith and trust Him to handle the rest. As it says in Colossians 1:16, “In Him, all things were created in heaven and on Earth.” Even me.
